The story board

I remembered when I first apply in a job. The interviewer was testing my communication skills. She gave me a story board and told me I need to make a story out of the six pictures in the board. The first picture had 2 men on it in a jumper suit and was painting a bench. On the second picture, they put a sign wetpaint on the bench and left. The third picture showed a man in a business suit walking towards the bench. The sign was blown by the wind on the fourth picture and basically the fifth picture showed the man in a business suit sitting on the still wet bench.

On the next picture, the man noticed that the bench was wet with fresh paint and his suit was stained. Finally the last picture showed the man rushing to a laundry shop for a quick fix. It was a simple story board even a high school student can easily make a story out of it but the main purpose of the interviewer was to make the applicant think fast and have the proper grammar and diction while narrating the story. Luckily, I landed on the job and after a couple of years, I am now the one sitting on the interviewer’s chair and analyzing the story of every applicants. Success can be earned through hard work and perseverance. It will take a bright mind to be in a job but it will need a heart to stay for the career. Like a wet paint that needs to be left untouched first before it’s true beauty will be appreciated so as career growth.
